Emily Domres lives and works in Northfield, Minnesota as part of the Emerging Artist residency at St. Olaf College. She mainly works in oil paint, combining themes of memory and nostalgia with femininity and girlhood.  Her work complicates moments of celebration with mourning and reconnecting with girlhood. Saturated colors and dream-like auras are visual staples of her recent work, blending realism with abstraction.
